Katsina State Ministry for Local Government acknowledges Efforts of LGAs

The Inspection Team of Katsina State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on Saturday has successfully inspected nine developmental projects undertaken by three local government areas.

The three local government areas so far visited were Batsari, Kurfi and Dutsinma.

The essence of the inspection was to ensure the existence of the projects, its nature, quality and level as well as the strict compliance of the Bill of Quantity of the projects by the Contractor.

The Inspection begun with a 276m long drainage, construction work of ten and rehabilitation of three Market Stalls totalling to thirteen stalls at Batsari main Market.

The Commissioner and other members of the Inspection Team took time to condole Sarkin Ruman Katsina District Head of Batsari over the recent death of his son.

At Kurfi local government area, a total of three projects comprising of completed total rehabilitation of 'Yar Marke Juma'at Mosque which is now ready for Juma'at prayer, ongoing construction of Birchi to Goda 3Km rural feeder road with two culverts, and an ongoing rehabilitation Work of a Clinic at Tashar Bara'u.

The Inspection Team also visited Dutsinma LGA and inspected 200 Solar powered Street Lights poles and its relevant accessories ready to be installed, already installed 500KVA Electricity Transformer at the Water Board District Headquarters to power generation of water supply to Dutsinma community and another 500KVA electricity Transformer at Unguwar 'Yandaka in Dutsinma Town.

Shortly after  inspecting the eight projects at the three LGAs, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Professor Badamasi Lawal registered his satisfaction and commended the efforts of local councils Chairmen for exhibiting degree of foresight in their bids to improve living conditions of their communities.

The Commissioner also pointed out that at the three LGAs so far visited, some projects were 100% but some corrections were observed on some of the projects yet to be completed and directives were given to the affected Chairmen and relevant Contractors to ensure compliance.

Badamasi Lawal also commended the efforts of the state Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda for redeeming some of his campaign promises across the LGAs which is unprecedented.

He therefore thanked Chairmen, contractors, his Permanent Secretary Alhaji Salisu Musa Batsari and other Directors both at the Ministry and local levels as well as the entire people for their support and cooperation to the state and local administration.

The Chairmen of the three local government areas so far visited Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Ifo, Alhaji Bala Garba Tsanni and the Caretaker Chairman of D/ma LGA Alhaji Kabir AbdulSalam Shema applauded the efforts of Malam Dikko Radda for his zeal to revive local government areas in the state.
